2.The BL NATURE CODE is set by default as “23” for all import shipments. Customers are required to send written request for BL NATURE CODE “24” and FINAL DESTINATION with acknowledgment receipt from our Documentation team 3 days before ETA thru email: phl.impdocs@cma-cgm.com.
.About the Philippine area code (NATURE CODE 23/24):
In shipping;
23 means import for local sales, and 24 means processing with supplied materials for re-export. The Philippine agent sends the customs with the code 23 by default. If the consignee requires the declaration code to be 24, the consignee needs to notify our Philippine agent at least 48 hours before the ship arrives at the port.
The consignor needs to provide "PRE- ALERT documents" to the consignee before the ship leaves, and confirm the declaration area code with the consignee to avoid the cost of changing the order afterwards.
in air;
According to the requirements of the Philippine Customs, all goods arriving in the Philippines need to be entered in the customs system in advance with the BL Nature Code (region code, hereinafter referred to as Nature Code) corresponding to the goods. Currently, there are two entry options for Nature Code 23 and 24, and 23 means imported locally. Sales, 24 means processing with supplied materials for re-export.
The destination port is now uniformly entered into the system according to the default Nature Code: 23 of the customs. The agent needs to confirm the area code of the cargo declaration with the consignee before booking. If there are special requirements for the Nature Code to be entered according to 24, it needs to be entered on B00KING Make notes and re-emphasize when you finally check the data.
After the goods take off, if you need to change the Nature Code, the consignee should apply to the local customs for resolution and bear the fines and other related expenses.
